Official Rules

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO PLAY. THE FOLLOWING PROMOTION IS A GAME OF CHANCE INTENDED ONLY FOR LEGAL RESIDENTS OF THE 50 UNITED STATES, THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, AND PUERTO RICO (EXCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, ALL OTHER U.S. TERRITORIES AND FOREIGN TERRITORIES) ONLY AND SHALL ONLY BE CONSTRUED AND EVALUATED ACCORDING TO UNITED STATES LAW.


These are the official rules (the “Official Rules”) for the Hallmark Channel® Countdown to Christmas Movie Game Sweepstakes (the “Promotion “). The Promotion is sponsored by Hallmark Media United States, LLC, 12700 Ventura Boulevard, Studio City, CA 91604 (“ Sponsor “). To the extent any advertisers are associated with the Promotion, each such advertiser shall be deemed a “Promoter” for purposes of these Official Rules.


  1. ELIGIBILITY. The Promotion is open to legal residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico (EXCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, SUCH RESIDENTS OF ALL OTHER U.S. TERRITORIES AND FOREIGN TERRITORIES), who are 18 years of age or older as of the date of entry (an “Entrant,” “Player” or “You“). Registration is further described below. The following are not eligible to participate or win in this Promotion: (i) employees and agents of Sponsor, Promoter or Promoters, US Sweepstakes and Fulfillment Co. (the “Promotion Administrator”), and their respective parent, subsidiary and affiliated companies, franchisees and licensees, and its respective advertising/promotion agencies; and (ii) the “immediate family members” and/or “household members” of any of the persons set forth in (i) above. “Immediate family members” shall mean parents, step-parents, children, step-children, siblings or spouses. “Household members” shall mean people who share the same residence at least three (3) months a year. The Promotion is void where prohibited by law. Participation in the Promotion constitutes Entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to these Official Rules and to Sponsor’s decisions. The decisions of the Sponsor regarding all matters relating to the Promotion are final and binding. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein.


  2. PROMOTION PERIOD. The Promotion begins on Monday, October 2, 2023 at 12:00:01 PM Eastern Time (“ET”) and ends on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at 06:59:59 AM ET (the “Promotion Period ”). For the sake of the Promotion, a day is defined as the 24-hour period running from 7:00:00 AM ET on any given day through 6:59:59 AM ET on the calendar day immediately following such day. Within the Promotion Period, there will be eleven (11) separate weekly periods as defined in the Weekly Period Schedule below (each a “Weekly Period“). For each Weekly Period participants may earn Entries, as defined herein, into that week’s Weekly Prize drawing and into the Grand Prize drawing.

  3. REGISTRATION: To access the Promotion, visit https://christmasmoviegame.hallmarkchannel.com (the “Promotion Website”) and follow all instructions to complete the registration form in its entirety to create an account (each, an “Account”) and submit (the “Registration”). To participate in and earn Entries into the Promotion, you must register. Limit: One (1) Registration per person and one (1) Registration per household.


    If you have not registered, you may register at any time during the Promotion Period by clicking on the applicable link as indicated on the Promotion Website registration page and following the instructions. You are responsible for the secrecy of your password. Sponsor, Promoters and other third parties are not responsible or liable for any actions taken using your password. You will also be asked to consent to receive promotional e-mails. Consenting to receive promotional e-mails is optional and does not have to be agreed to in order to become a member, participate in this Promotion or to win a prize.


  4. HOW TO ENTER: There are fifteen (15) ways to enter. IMPORTANT: Participants must first sign in to his/her Account to earn Entries:


    1. Sign In Entry: On each day during the Promotion Period, participants may visit the Promotion Website and successfully Sign In to his/her account, including a participant’s initial Registration, to earn one (1) entry into the Promotion (each, a “Sign In Entry”). Limit: One (1) Sign In Entry per day per Entrant.

    2. Daily Trivia Entry: On each day during the Promotion Period, participants may visit the Promotion Website, visit the “Daily Trivia Tab” and complete all questions within the trivia pack (each, a “Daily Trivia Pack”) to earn the number of entries into the Promotion as detailed in the Trivia Entries chart below based on the percentage of questions answered correctly (each, a “Daily Trivia Entry”). Participants may access past Daily Trivia Packs from the “Daily Trivia Archive” tab. Only a participant’s initial play for any day’s Daily Trivia Pack will earn Daily Trivia Entries; subsequent attempts to replay a Daily Trivia Pack will not result in any change to the Daily Trivia Entries earned. Limit: Three (3) Daily Trivia Entries per Daily Trivia Pack per Entrant.

    3. Premiere Play Trivia Entry: During Weekly Periods 1 through 10, participants may visit the Promotion Website, visit the “Premiere Play Tab” and complete all questions within the Premiere Play trivia pack (each, a “Premiere Play Trivia Pack”) to earn the number of entries into the Promotion as detailed in the Trivia Entries Chart above based on the percentage of questions answered correctly (each, a “ Premiere Play Trivia Entry ”). There will be one (1) Premiere Play Trivia Pack for each movie premiere available during the Promotion Period. Each Premiere Play Trivia Pack will be available and may be completed through the end of the Promotion Period.     4. General Knowledge Trivia Entry: During the Promotion Period, participants may visit the Promotion Website, visit the “Trivia Tab” and complete all questions within any available Countdown to Christmas, Miracles of Christmas or other available Hallmark movie general knowledge trivia pack (each, a “General Knowledge Trivia Pack”) to earn the number of entries into the Promotion as detailed in the Trivia Entries Chart above based on the percentage of questions answered correctly (each, a “General Knowledge Trivia Entry”). There will be six (6) General Knowledge Trivia Packs available at the start of Weekly Period 1, three (3) General Knowledge Trivia Packs added on both 10/9/23 and on 10/16/23 and three (3) General Knowledge Trivia Packs added for Weekly Periods 2-11. Only a participant’s initial play for any day’s General Knowledge Trivia Pack will earn General Knowledge Trivia Entries; subsequent attempts to replay a General Knowledge Trivia Pack will not result in any change to the Daily Trivia Entries earned. Limit: Three (3) General Knowledge Trivia Entries per General Knowledge Trivia Pack per Entrant.


    5. Unlockable Trivia Entry: During the Promotion Period, certain General Knowledge Trivia Packs will be labelled as ‘Unlockable’ and only be available to complete once the specified corresponding General Knowledge Trivia Pack has been completed (each, an “Unlockable General Knowledge Trivia Pack”). There will be two (2) Unlockable General Knowledge Trivia Packs available at the start of Weekly Period 1 and one (1) Unlockable General Knowledge Trivia Pack added for each subsequent Weekly Period. During each Weekly Period of the Promotion Period, participants may visit the Promotion Website, visit the “Trivia Tab” and, once unlocked, complete all questions within the Unlockable General Knowledge Trivia Pack to earn the number of entries into the Promotion as detailed in the Trivia Entries Chart above based on the percentage of questions answered correctly (each, a “Unlockable Trivia Entry”). Only a participant’s initial play for any day’s Unlockable Trivia Pack will earn Unlockable Trivia Entries; subsequent attempts to replay an Unlockable Trivia Pack will not result in any change to the Unlockable Trivia Entries earned. Limit: Three (3) Unlockable Trivia Entries per Unlockable Trivia Pack per Entrant.


    6. Advanced Trivia Entry: During the Promotion Period, certain General Knowledge Trivia Packs will be labelled as ‘Advanced’ (each, a “Advanced General Knowledge Trivia Pack”). There will be two (2) Advanced General Knowledge Trivia Packs available at the start of Weekly Period 1 and one (1) Advanced General Knowledge Trivia Pack added for each subsequent Weekly Period. During each Weekly Period, participants may visit the Promotion Website, visit the “Trivia Tab” and complete all questions within the Advanced General Knowledge Trivia Pack to earn the number of entries into the Promotion as detailed in the Advanced Trivia Entries Chart below based on the number of questions answered correctly (each, a “Advanced Trivia Entry”). Only a participant’s initial play for any Advanced General Knowledge Trivia Pack will earn Advanced Trivia Entries; subsequent attempts to replay an Advanced General Knowledge Trivia Pack will not result in any change to the Advanced Trivia Entries earned. Limit: Five (5) Advanced Trivia Entries per Advanced General Knowledge Trivia Pack per Entrant.

    7. Hallmark Movies Now Trivia Entry: During the Promotion Period, participants may visit the Promotion Website, visit the “Trivia Tab” and complete all questions within any available Hallmark Movies Now trivia pack (each, a “Hallmark Movies Now Trivia Pack”) to earn the number of entries into the Promotion as detailed in the Trivia Entries Chart above based on the percentage of questions answered correctly (each, a “Hallmark Movies Now Trivia Entry”). There will be six (6) Hallmark Movies Now Trivia Packs available at the start of Weekly Period 1, two (2) Hallmark Movies Now Trivia Packs added on both 10/9/23 and on 10/16/23, two (2) Hallmark Movies Now Trivia Packs added for Weekly Periods 2-11. Only a participant’s initial play for any Hallmark Movies Now Trivia Pack will earn Hallmark Movies Now Trivia Entries; subsequent attempts to replay a Hallmark Movies Now Trivia Pack will not result in any change to the Hallmark Movies Now Entries earned.     8. Premiere Play Check In Entry: After the scheduled start of the Eastern Time live airing of each movie premiere during Weekly Periods 1 through 10 and for the 76 hours immediately following, participants may visit the Promotion Website, visit the “Premiere Play Tab” for a movie premiere and follow the instructions to complete a ‘Check In’ by clicking the “check in” or “I’m watching now” button (each, a “Check In Entry” ). For a list and schedule of movie premieres, visit https://www.hallmarkchannel.com/schedule. Limit: One (1) Check In Entry per movie premiere per Entrant.


    9. Premiere Play Live Trivia Entry: After the scheduled start of the Eastern Time live airing of each movie premiere during Weekly Periods 1 through 10 until the end of the Promotion Period, participants may visit the Promotion Website, visit the “Premiere Play Tab” for a movie premiere and complete all questions (each, a “Premiere Play Live Trivia Pack”) to earn the number of entries into the Promotion as detailed in the Trivia Entries Chart above based on the percentage of questions answered correctly (each, a “Premiere Play Live Trivia Entry”). For a list and schedule of movie premieres, visit https://www.hallmarkchannel.com/schedule. Limit: Three (3) Premiere Play Live Entry per movie premiere per Entrant.


    10. Premiere Polls Entry: During the Promotion Period, participants may visit the Promotion Website, visit the “Premiere Play Tab” for a movie premiere to complete the poll/prediction (each, a “Poll”) to earn one (1) entry into the Promotion for each completed poll/prediction (each, a “Premiere Poll Entry”). For a list and schedule of movie premieres, visit https://www.hallmarkchannel.com/schedule. One (1) Poll will be available at the start of Weekly Periods 1 through 10 and one (1) Poll will be available after the scheduled start of the Eastern Time live airing of a movie premiere. Limit: Two (2) Premiere Poll Entries per movie premiere per Entrant.


    11. Premiere Site Visit Entry: During the Promotion Period, participants may visit the Promotion Website, visit the “Premiere Play Tab” and follow the link for any listed movie premiere to visit its hallmarkchannel.com microsite to earn one (1) entry into the Promotion (each, a “Premiere Visit Entry”). Limit: One (1) Premiere Visit Entry per Entrant per Premiere.


    12. Daily Polls Entry: Each day during the Promotion Period, participants may visit the Promotion Website, locate and complete the daily poll available on the home page to earn one (1) entry into the Promotion (each, a “Daily Poll Entry”). Limit: One (1) Daily Poll Entry per Entrant per day.


    13. Microgame Entry: Each day during the Promotion Period, participants may visit the Promotion Website, visit the “Micrograme” page from the home page and complete that day’s game (each, a “Microgame”) to earn three (3) entries into the Promotion (each, a “Microgame Entry”). Only a participant’s initial play for any Microgame will earn Microgame Entries. Limit: Three (3) Microgame Entries per Entrant per day.


    14. Badge Entry: During the Promotion Period, participants may visit the Promotion Website and complete any of the actions listed on any of the thirty-six (36) milestones listed on his/her Profile page to earn the badge associated with that milestone (each, a “Badge”) and to earn five (5) entries into the Promotion (each, a “Badge Entry”). Limit: Five (5) Badge Entries per Badge per Entrant.


    15. Bonus Entry: During each Weekly Period, participants may visit the Promotion Website, visit the “Bonus” page, and follow the instructions to complete any of the six (6) bonus activities (each, a “Bonus Activity”) to earn two (2) entries into the Promotion (each, a “Bonus Entry”). Limit: Two (2) Bonus Entries per Bonus Activity per Entrant.


      Sign In Entry, Daily Trivia Entry, Premiere Play Trivia Entry, General Knowledge Trivia Entry, Unlockable Trivia Entry, Advanced Trivia Entry, Hallmark Movies Now Trivia Entry, Premiere Play Check In Entry, Premiere Play Live Trivia Entry, Premiere Polls Entry, Premiere Site Visit Entry, Daily Polls Entry, Microgame Entry, Badge Entry and Bonus Entry collectively referred to herein as “Entry” or “Entries”. All methods of entry have an equal chance of winning. All Entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned.


      Potential winners may be required to provide Sponsor with proof that they are the registered individual associated with the winning Entry. Entries made by any other individual or any entity, including but not limited to commercial sweepstakes subscription notification and/or entering services, will be declared invalid and disqualified for this Promotion. Entries that are suspected of being fraudulent in nature or tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Promotion is prohibited and any Entries deemed by Sponsor, in its sole discretion, to have been submitted in this manner will be void. Sponsor’s computer shall be the official timekeeper for all matters related to this Promotion. Entries generated by a script, macro, or other automated means will be disqualified.


      Sponsor and its agencies are not responsible for lost, interrupted or unavailable network, server or other connections, miscommunications, failed phone or computer hardware or software or telephone transmissions or technical failures, garbled or jumbled transmissions or other errors of any kind, whether human, mechanical or electronic, including without limitation, the incorrect or inaccurate capture of Entry information online, or for lost, late, incomplete, damaged, destroyed, delayed, stolen, misdirected or illegible Entries. Entry materials/data that have been tampered with or altered are void. Once submitted, Entries become the sole property of Sponsor and will not be returned.


  5. WINNER DETERMINATION: Random Drawings will be conducted by the Sweepstakes Administrator, an independent representative of the Sponsor, whose decisions are final.


    Grand Prize: The potential Grand Prize winner will be selected in a random drawing on or about Wednesday, January 3, 2024, from among all eligible Entries received during the Sweepstakes Period.


    Weekly Prizes: The potential Weekly Prize winners will be selected in a series of random drawings from among all eligible Entries received within the corresponding Weekly Period on or about the corresponding Random Drawing Date indicated in the Weekly Period Schedule in the Promotion Period section of these Official Rules.


  6. PRIZE(S)/APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUE (“ARV”)/ODDS:


    Grand Prize: One (1) Grand Prize Winner will receive $20,000 cash awarded in the form of a check payable to the Grand Prize Winner. The ARV of the Grand Prize is: $20,000.


    Weekly Prizes: There are eleven (11) Weekly Prizes available to be won, one (1) for each Weekly Period. Each Weekly Prize includes one (1) $1,000 check that will be awarded in the name of the confirmed winner. ARV of the Weekly Prize: $1,000 each. The total ARV of all Weekly Prizes is: $11,000.


    ONLY THE NUMBER OF PRIZES SET FORTH IN THESE OFFICIAL RULES WILL BE AWARDED IN THIS PROMOTION.


    Total approximate retail value of all prizes to be awarded: $31,000.


    There is a limit of one (1) Weekly Prize per person or household. Odds of winning a Weekly Prize will depend upon the total number of eligible Entries received per Weekly Period. Odds of winning the Grand Prize will depend upon the total number of eligible Entries received during the Promotion Period.


  7. WINNER NOTIFICATION:


    The potential Grand Prize and Weekly Prize winners will each be notified by email and will be required to sign and return, within seven (7) days of notification, an Affidavit of Eligibility & Liability Waiver, a W-9 Form and where allowable, a Publicity Release (collectively, the “Releases”). Noncompliance will result in disqualification and an alternate winner will be selected in a separate random drawing. The prize package will be awarded within 6-8 weeks after the winner is verified.


  8. PRIZE CONDITIONS. Prizes returned as undeliverable or otherwise not claimed within ten (10) days after being sent will be forfeited and may be awarded to an alternate winner. Prizes are not assignable, transferable and may not be substituted except at Sponsor’s sole discretion. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value at its discretion. Prizes are awarded “AS IS” and WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, express or implied, (including without limitation, any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose). All taxes associated with the receipt or use of any prizes are the sole responsibility of the winner.


    Winners are solely responsible for any and all expenses relative to participation in the Promotion (including acceptance of any prize) not specified herein. EACH WINNER IS SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL TAXES ASSOCIATED WITH THE RECEIPT OR USE OF ANY PRIZE.


  9. MINORS. If a potential winner is a minor in his/her jurisdiction of primary residence, potential winner’s parent/legal guardian must execute all Releases and agree to all obligations and undertakings required of the potential winner in these Official Rules, both on behalf of himself/herself and the potential winning minor. Prize may be awarded in the name of, or to, parent/legal guardian for the benefit of the minor.


  10. WINNER REQUIREMENTS: Winners are responsible for all federal, state, local and income taxes associated with winning prize. Potential winners whose prize is valued at $600 or more will also be required to furnish his/her Social Security Number via an IRS Form W-9 in order for an IRS Form 1099 in the value of the prize be supplied to each winner. In the event that a potential winner is disqualified for any reason, an alternate winner may be selected in a separate random drawing. Acceptance of any prize shall constitute and signify winner’s agreement and consent that Sponsor may use the winner’s name, city, state, likeness, and/or prize information in connection with the Promotion, worldwide, including the Internet, without limitation and without further payment or consideration, except where prohibited by law. Sponsor shall not incur any liability whatsoever to the extent Sponsor chooses to refrain from any exploitation of its rights hereunder. Winner will indemnify Sponsor, Released Parties (as defined below) and any licensee of Sponsor against all claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable counsel fees and legal expenses) arising out of any breach of these terms.


  11. RELEASE: By participating, Entrant agrees to release and hold harmless Sponsor, Administrator, and their respective subsidiaries, affiliates, suppliers, distributors, advertising/promotion agencies, and prize suppliers, and each of their respective parent companies and each such company’s officers, directors, employees and agents (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from and against any claim or cause of action, including, but not limited to, personal injury, death, or damage to or loss of property, arising out of participation in the Promotion or receipt or use or misuse of any prize.


  12. GENERAL CONDITIONS: Participating entrants agree to these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor and the Sweepstakes Administrator, and release the Sponsor, the Sweepstakes Administrator, and their affiliated companies, and all other businesses involved in this Sweepstakes, as well as the employees, officers, directors and agents of each (the “Released Parties”), from all claims and liability relating to their participation in the promotion, and the acceptance and use/misuse of the prize offered. Participating entrants assume all liability for and Released Parties shall be held harmless against any liability for any injury, losses or damages of any kind to persons, including personal injury or death, or injury to property caused or claimed to be caused in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, by participation in this Sweepstakes, acceptance, possession, or use/misuse of the prize, or any claims based on publicity rights, defamation or invasion of privacy, or merchandise delivery. Sponsor is not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing of the offer, administration of the Sweepstakes or in the announcement of the prize.


    In the event of a dispute over the identity of an entrant, Entry will be deemed submitted by the "Authorized Account Holder" of the e-mail address submitted at time of entry. Authorized Account Holder means the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization that is responsible for assigning e- mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. Sponsor may ask any entrant or potential winner to provide Sponsor with proof, to Sponsor’s satisfaction, that such party is the authorized account holder of the email address associated with the Entry. Entry materials/data that have been tampered with or altered, or mass Entries or Entries generated by a script, macro or use of automated devices are void. The Released Parties are not responsible for: (i) lost, late, misdirected, damaged or illegible Entries; or (ii) error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operations or transmission, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alterations of Entry materials, or for technical, network, telephone equipment, electronic, computer, hardware or software malfunctions of any kind, or inaccurate transmission of or failure to receive Entry information by Sponsor on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site or any combination thereof; or (iii) any injury or damage to entrant's or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participating in the Sweepstakes. By participating in the Sweepstakes, you (i) agree to be bound by these official rules, including all eligibility requirements, and (ii) agree to be bound by the decisions of Sponsor and the Sweepstakes Administrator, which are final and binding in all matters relating to the Sweepstakes. Failure to comply with these official rules may result in disqualification from the Sweepstakes.


    Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend and/or modify the Sweepstakes, or any part of it, if any fraud, technical failures or any factor beyond Sponsor’s reasonable control impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the Sweepstakes, as determined by Sponsor. If, for any reason, the Sweepstakes cannot be run as planned, Sponsor may disqualify any suspect Entries or individuals from the Sweepstakes and any sweepstakes it sponsors and (a) suspend the Sweepstakes and modify the Sweepstakes to address the impairment, then resume the Sweepstakes in a manner that best conforms to the spirit of these Official Rules; and/or (b) award the prize at random from among the eligible, non-suspect Entries received up to the time of the impairment.


    THE RELEASED PARTIES ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE IF THIS SWEEPSTAKES CANNOT BE ADMINISTERED OR CONDUCTED OR ANY PRIZE CANNOT BE AWARDED DUE TO CANCELLATIONS, DELAYS, OR INTERRUPTIONS RESULTING OR ARISING FROM ACTS OF GOD, WAR, OR TERRORISM, CIVIL UNREST, STRIKES, SUPPLY SHORTAGES, NATURAL DISASTERS, WEATHER, EPIDEMICS, COMPLIANCE WITH ANY LAW OR ORDER OF A GOVERNMENTAL AUTHORITY, OR ANY OTHER SIMILAR ACT, EVENT, OR OCCURRENCE BEYOND THE REASONABLE CONTROL OF THE SPONSOR.   13. LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY: The Released Parties are not responsible for: (1) any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by Entrant, printing errors or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Promotion; (2) technical failures of any kind, including, but not limited to malfunctions, interruptions, or disconnections in phone lines or network hardware or software; (3) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process or the Promotion; (4) technical or human error which may occur in the administration of the Promotion or the processing of Entries; (5) late, lost, undeliverable, damaged or stolen mail; or (6) any injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from Entrant’s participation in the Promotion or receipt or use or misuse of any prize. Sponsor is not responsible for misdirected or undeliverable Entries or for any technical problems, malfunctions of computer systems, servers, providers, hardware/software, lost or unavailable network connections or failed, incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmission or any combination thereof. Sponsor is not responsible for any typographical/other error in Entries, selection announcement or for any liability for damage to any computer system resulting from participation in, accessing or downloading information in connection with this Promotion. If for any reason an Entrant's Entry is confirmed to have been erroneously deleted, lost, or otherwise destroyed or corrupted, Entrant’s sole remedy is another Entry in the Promotion, provided that, if it is not possible to award another Entry due to discontinuance of the Promotion, or any part of it, for any reason, Sponsor, in its sole discretion, may elect to hold a random drawing from among all eligible Entries received up to the date of discontinuance for any or all of the Promotion prizes offered herein. No more than the stated number of prizes will be awarded.
